The founder names one accountable owner. Three leaders believe the same operating decision sits with them.

The problem

Alignment problems stay invisible until execution begins to slow.

Founders and leadership teams can look at the same company and reach different conclusions. The gaps rarely announce themselves. They show up later as friction, hesitation and rework.

Priorities quietly separate

The founder is pushing for growth while the team is protecting delivery. Both views can be rational—and still pull the company in different directions.

Ownership becomes unclear

Important decisions slow down when several leaders believe they own the same outcome, or no one is sure who has the final call.

Everyone watches a different risk

One leader is watching competitors, another cash, another customer concentration. The business reacts late because there is no shared view of exposure.

The scan

Five questions reveal where your team sees the business differently.

01

Focus

Does the team agree on the company’s single most important priority?

Founder: acquisition. Team: fix delivery.
02

Direction

Does everyone describe the same version of winning over the next 12 months?

Two new markets. Or a stronger core market.
03

Ownership

Is there one clear owner for every major decision?

Three leaders believe they own the same decision.
04

Constraints

Does the team agree on what is slowing the company down?

Founder: hiring. Team: product delivery.
05

Risks

Is everyone watching the same primary business risk?

Founder: competitors. Team: customer concentration.
How it works

Three steps.
One clear picture.

Who it is for

Built for founder-led teams that want the real picture.

01

10–100 employees

Large enough for alignment gaps to slow execution.

02

3–5 participating leaders

A real leadership team making consequential decisions.

03

Founder active in key decisions

Close enough to the work for different views to matter.

The method

Every result traces back to what your team actually said.

01

Answers are collected independently

Each person completes the scan before seeing anyone else’s response, reducing consensus bias and group influence.

02

Meaning matters more than wording

Orbit compares what people mean, not whether they happened to use the same language.

03

Every result is traceable

The scorecard connects each finding to the underlying answers, so the conversation stays grounded in evidence.

FAQs

Questions before you bring the team in?

The fit call is the simplest place to test whether the scan is right for your company.

Is the Alignment Gap Scan really free?

Yes. The fit call, five-question scan, scorecard and guided walkthrough are free. If the scan reveals a deeper operating problem, Orbit may recommend a paid engagement, but there is no obligation.

Who should participate?

The founder or CEO and three to five leadership team members who are close enough to the business to influence major priorities and decisions.

Why does my leadership team need to answer?

The value comes from comparing different reads of the same company. A founder-only assessment cannot show where the leadership team is aligned, drifting or materially split.

Will responses be anonymous?

Responses are collected independently. Other participants cannot see them while the scan is open. Orbit will agree with you upfront how named answers are handled in the walkthrough.

How much time does it take?

The fit call takes 20 minutes. Each participant needs about 10 minutes for the scan. The results walkthrough takes 30 to 45 minutes.

How is the Alignment Index calculated?

Orbit compares the meaning of each response across five dimensions. Similar answers are grouped even when the language differs, with room for healthy variation before a gap is marked.

What happens after the walkthrough?

You keep the scorecard. If the gaps call for deeper work, Orbit can diagnose the causes and build a practical 90-day alignment plan as a separate paid engagement.
